St. Petersburg: Evropeiskii universitet, 2016. sewn pb. The key documents of the Ukrainian branch of Slavic futurism (1914–30) are given in Russian translation for the first time. The book also includes the full bibliography of Semenko’s lifetime editions, his 40 books and almanacs, a chronology of his life and works. The texts are accompanied by detailed commentaries.  A major theorist of the Ukrainian Avant-garde movement, Semenko (1892–1937) wrote manifestos and formed the first Ukrainian Avant-garde group “Quaero-futurism” (lat. quaero — to search; futurum — future). He was also the leader and ideologist of panfuturism, a movement developed in the works of Aspanfut, Communcult and Novaya Generatsiya (New Generation) groups. Published here are 80 selected examples from Semenko’s lyric poetry and facsimiles of Semenko’s scandal book “Derzaniya” (“Endeavours”, 1914) and his visiopoetic experiments (“Kablepoema za Okean” and “Poezomaljarstvo”, 1921–1922) which demonstrate his theories of “poezomalyarstvo” (poetic painting) and “meta-iskusstvo” (meta-art). 400 + [16] p., 23 cm, 100 illus, 45 in color, Rus. with summary and title page in ENGLISH.
