Nikulin dating from the 1920s to the 1960s. The genre is that of lithography, and the works have a muted and subtle way of capturing the city's people, its topography of canals, rivers, quays, and its staid, elegant architecture. The exhibition does not purport to correspond in tone to Akhmatova's poetry, but the there are parallels between the city as characterized in these works of art and its depiction in Akhmatova's poetry.
