Especially fresh was the depiction of women in sport, not delicate and mysterious as they often appeared during the Silver Age, but robust and frank about their physical beauty. Art, especially an applied art like ceramics that could find a place in ordinary people’s homes, was instrumental in propagating these revolutionary changes.
