Copper Coins of the Russian Empire / Mednye monety Rossiiskoi Imperii
St. Petersburg: ? 2019. Sewn cl. Based on a private St. Petersburg collection, this catalogue publishes virtually all copper coins minted in Imperial Russia from the reign of Catherine the Great to the reign of Nicholas II (1763–1855). Coins of earlier reigns such as Peter the Great’s are represented less completely, but there are still many examples of various kinds ((polushka, denga, kopek). The author notes the condition of each coin and its estimated value among numismatists. All pieces in the collection are expertly photographed, which makes it possible to discern quality of minting, condition, color (yellow, light brown, red, etc.), and content of imagery. The great majority are illustrated in color (reference photos of coins from other collections published for the sake of completion are in black and white). Item #3238
