Boris Korolev, 1885–1963

St. Petersburg: Rus muz, 2008. This catalogue of an exhibition at the Russan Museum shows the cubist sculpture, unique in twentieth century among sculptors working in the late tsarist and Soviet periods. Korolev's experimental forms were too bold even in the avant-garde period — his statue of Bakunin, for example, was erected as a public monument but deemed too abstruse for the public removed and demolished. An appendix reproduces the striking drawings he did in preparation for his sculptures. 179 p., 23 x 25 cm, approx. 150 color illus., Rus. Item #3669
