Appendix 1 explicates the cluster of awards (kolodka), orders and medals worn by Alexander II in various portraits. Appendix 2 presents pieces designed for the 200th anniversary of Tsarskoe Selo in 1910. The tangible signs of honor and achievement tell us much about the norms and standards of imperial Russia, and the designs an ancillary branch of sculpture and metalwork. Most works are from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and early twentieth centuries; one piece dates to 2006 and commemorates the reburial of Empress Maria Fedorovna, wife of Alexander III and mother of Nicholas II, in the Cathedral of Sts.
