V poiskakh antichnogo Bospora. K 150-letiiu M. I. Rostovtseva (In Search of the Ancient Bosporus. On the 150th Anniversary of Mikhail Rostovtsev); . 150- . .

St. Petersburg: Herm, 2022. The goal of the unusual exhibition at the Hermitage published in this catalogue is to show the distinct style of Spanish applied and decorative arts shaped by the confluence of European and Arabic styles. The curators characterize what is distinct in works by Spanish artists, draw connections between art and the events of period, such as geographical discoveries, and demonstrate their points with works from the Hermitage in two usually separate genres — glass and textiles (including lace). Using different materials and techniques, artists and craftsmen in Spain were inspired by a similar aesthetic. Another theme is regional variation: authors point out the different styles that arose in the glass making centers of Catalonia, Castilla, and Andalusia. 81 p., 22 cm, Rus. with summary in ENGLISH.
