Exhibition Catalogues

Bronze Horseman carries catalogues of exhibitions, which as a rule bring together works from various sources, juxtaposing them in ways that stimulate new insights, research, and scholarship. Exhibition catalogues record the unique set of works temporarily exhibited together, and they embody the ideas that inspired the exhibition. A sampling of subjects of exhibitions suggests the variety and richness of the catalogues published by Russian museums — “Russian Descendants of the French Empress: the Dukes of Leuchtenberg in St. Petersburg,” “East and West: The Art of the Islamic World,” “Painting and Sculpture in Rome in the Second Half of the 18th Century,” “Alexander the Great: The Way East,” “The Stroganovs: Patrons and Collectors,” “Gothic and Renaissance Dreams: Sienese Painting of the 14th to the Early 16th c.,” “Paul Cézanne and the Russian Avant-Garde of the Early 20th c.,” “In Palaces and Tents: the Islamic World from China to Europe,” “The Cooperative of Proletariat Art of Friedrich Brass: A Collection of German Avant-Garde Art in the Soviet Russia,” “The Artist and His Work: Western European Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Art from the Collections of the Hermitage Museum.”
