St. Petersburg: Rus muz, 2016. Sewn cl. Paolo Trubetskoi was born in Italy, the son of an Russian diplomat serving in Florence. He received his training as a sculptor in Milan, where he opened a studio in 1885. His sculptural style influenced by expressionism and impressionism was controversial in Russia, opposed as it was to the academic tradition. The Russian Museum has an exceptional collection of his works of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century: over forty sculptures and drawings are published here together with a substantive article exploring his place in modern world art — he received commissions and exhibited in Europe and America. 83 p., approx. 60 color illus., Rus.
