Petergof: Marafon / Petergof, 2008. saddle-stitched. The first artist in the family of French origin Nikolai Benois became the architect of several mid nineteenth-century buildings in Peterhof, including the Fraülein Wing of the Great Palace. It is there that a museum was started over two decades ago devoted to the artistic legacy of the Benois family. Leontii succeeded his father as an architect: over forty buildings in St. Petersburg alone are attributed to him. Zinaida Serebriakova working in Russia and after the 1917 revolution in France was distinguished for her beautiful and sensuous portraits and her vivid depiction of children. They and other members of the Benois family are the subject of this concise Peterhof exhibition catalogue. 44 pp., 7 1/2 x 9 ins., 20 b-&-w illus., 44 color, Rus. Item #2060
