Prioratskii dvorets v Gatchine (Priorat Palace in Gatchina)
St. Petersburg: Gatchina, 2007. Saddle-stitched. This anomalous (for Russia) structure simulating medieval Western European architecture (the word is cognate with priory) was designed by A. N. L’vov to meet Emperor Paul’s intention of having a base for the Knights of Malta in Russia. It was completed in 1799 for their order, with which Paul had formed an alliance.
