Transfurizm: Ry Nikonova, Sergei Sigei, A. Nik, B. Konstriktora, B. Kudriakov
St. Petersburg: Muzei nonkonformistskogo iskusstva / Dean, 2017. Sewn cl. The circle of artists and writers — Ry Nikonova, Sergei Sigei, A Nik (Nikolai Ansel'rod), Boris Konstriktora, Boris Kudriakov — that are the subject of this catalogue of an exhibition at the Museum of Nonconformist Art in St. Petersburg came together in the late 1970s and early 1980s around a samizdat journal "Transponens". Together they experimented in forms and colors initiating what they saw as an international avant-garde (they eventually emigrated to Germany). The introduction by the curator of the museum puts the artists' work in the context of other protest arts of the twentieth century such as futurism and its Russian version originating with David Burliuk's and Vladimir Mayakovsky's manifesto "Slap in the Face of Public Taste." 311 p., approx. 250 color illus., Rus.
