Works of applied and decorative art such as ecclesiastical vessels, reliquaries, ornate bible covers, enamels, and crosses, salvaged from churches and monasteries no longer extant. Formed spontaneously in the early Soviet years the provenance of the works reveals the events of that period — the struggle between church and state, and the confiscation of church valuables.
