Stradaniia Paraskevy Piatnitsy zhitiinaia ikona XVII veka iz sobraniia Vladimira Nekrasova / The sufferings of Paraskevi of Iconium: a 17th-century hagiographical icon from the collection of Vladimir Nekrasov; : XVII
Moscow: Muzei drevnerusskogo iskusstva im. Rubleva, 2020. Sewn pb. The icon that is subject of this catalogue of the Rublev museum comes from the Kostroma region and dates to the late seventeenth century. The author explains its distinct characteristics, both content and style. Basing his work on a tradition of saints' lives, the icon-painter innovated by adding in the outer rows new episodes from the life of St. Paraskevi of Iconium (4th c.), thus expanding the hagiography of the saint. From the stylistic difference between the central image and those on the periphery the author infers that more than one artist worked on the icon and maybe at quite different times. 77 p., 22 cm, Rus. with title page and summary in ENGLISH.
