This catalogue of an exhibition at the Rublev Museum publishes for the first time an icon from a private collection based on the famous fourteenth-century miracle-working icon. Conjectured to have been painted in the late sixteenth century based on stylistic evidence, the central panel depicts Mary holding Jesus in her left arm and replicates the canonic manner of the original fourteenth-century icon.. Painted somewhat later probably in the first half of the seventeenth century are twelve images showing miracles (some unpresedented) associated with the Lady of Tikhvin.
