Shown in the photos are the results of both the sociological and scholarly work of the Society: churches, hospitals, dormitories, and schools built in the Holy Land to serve both the local Arab population and Russian Orthodox pilgrims; archeological digs of expeditions led by Nikodim Kondakov, works forming Archimandrite Antonii's collection of antiquities; ancient mosaics and church interiors unearthed during excavations of ancient sites. This is the first comprehensive album of visual documents on the Society's work now held by the Museum of the History of Religion in St. Petersburg.
