The title of this catalogue of a Hermitage exhibition of works from Turin Museum refers to an Egyptian queen whose tomb was discovered during excavations led by Ernesto Schiaparelli in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Named the Valley of Queens, the area held a New Kingdom necropolis that contained about 100 tombs. Together with other collections, these acquisitions made Turin Egypt Museum the largest collectoin outside Egypt on Egyptian art and artifacts.
