St. Petersburg: Pavlovsk, 2025. Sewn pb. Emperor Paul and his wife Maria Fedorovna began collecting books that would end up in the library at Pavlovsk during their trip to Europe in the 1780s. Pavel continued to add to the library until his death in 1801, and Maria Fedorovna further enriched it during the first quarter of the nineteenth century. The books reflect the interests of the imperial family, their patronage of book culture; also exceptional is the library's collection of architectural drawings by Karl Rossi, engravings, cameos, and albums, which were also the purview of libraries at that time.
