Graviury Dzhovanni-Battista i Franchesko Piranezi v sobranii Gosudarstvennogo muzeia istorii Sankt-Peterburga (Etchings by Giovanni Battista and Francesco Piranesi in the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg)
St. Petersburg: Muzei istorii Sankt-Peterburga, (1st ed. 2008). sewn pb. This is the first complete catalogue of the etchings by Giovanni Battista and his son Francesco in the Museum of the History of St. Petersburg. Catalogued are 217 works; an index refers to individual architectural monuments in the engravings and to engraving cycles. Some of the works are recorded in the Museum of Old St. Petersburg, the pre-revolutionary name of the museum, but it appears that most of the works entered the collection between 1918 and 1928 in accord with the museum’s policy of seeking material pertaining to city planning. Piranesi's vedute and his imagined architectural scenes continued to influence designers of such a neoclassical city as St. Petersburg. 224 pp., 9 3/8 x 10 ¼ ins., 87 color illus., sewn pb., Rus.
